12-Aug-15 KPJ Healthcare Bhd, Malaysia's largest listed healthcare group, will spend RM1.5 bn (USD365 mn) to build 10 new hospitals there. The proposed hospitals will add 2,000 beds to the group, bringing the total to 5,000. KPJ currently operates 25 hospitals in Malaysia, two in Indonesia and one in Bangladesh, as well as a 23% stake in Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok. [image: KPJ Healthcare]

05-Aug-15 Malaysia's IHH Healthcare Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Parkway Holdings, is reported to have acquired a 74% stake in Hyderabad-based Global Hospitals Group for an equity value of INR1,800 crore (USD277 mn). in March 2015 IHH acquired a 51% stake in Hyderabad-based Continental Hospitals.
