Australian health care firms eye Asia for growth

Australia’s third-largest for-profit hospital operator, Healthe Care, and cardiac testing firm Cardioscan, both owned by private equity firms, say that a tough operating environment in Australia with tight margins means that successful operators could expand more profitably overseas.
“If you can make a business work well in Australia, there are great prospects for you to export that business model to other markets,” Cardioscan’s chairman Jeremy Steele said.
