Top American doctor to lead urogynaecology unit at Guangzhou hospital

Guangzhou hospital aims to deliver care with an international vision. Abraham Morse made headlines in local newspapers when he started working as a doctor at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center, as foreign doctors are still a rarity in Chinese public hospitals.

Morse attended medical school as part of a joint program between Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was attracted by the "innovative and slightly unusual" job posting by the medical center in Guangzhou on an international website. Morse said it stood out because it was not just a search for someone to conduct clinical work like most other postings for positions in Asia.
