Health Ministry sanctions trauma care facilities in Himachal

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has sanctioned grants amounting to more than INR17 crore towards upgradation and strengthening of trauma care facilities in Government Hospitals in the state of Himachal Pradesh. This is as part of the centrally sponsored scheme of “Capacity Development for Developing Trauma Care Facilities in Government Hospitals located on National Highways” of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Of the total amount sanctioned, INR2.754 crore has been sanctioned for each of four trauma care facilities at the Zonal Hospital Mandi for level III Trauma Care; Hamirpur Regional Hospital, Regional Hospital at Rampur, Shimla; and the District Hospital, Chamba. INR6.075 crore has been sanctioned for Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical Hospital at Tanda in Kangra.
Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Shri J P Nadda said that “The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is committed to strengthening of healthcare infrastructure in the state of Himachal Pradesh and this initiative is a step in that direction”.
