As Italian agricultural machinery exports to the US plummet, eyes are on new markets

In the first six months of 2025, the unfavorable global economic situation has led to a 10.4 percent overall decline in Italian exports of agricultural machinery, led by a 42 percent decrease in exports to the United States. The Mediterranean market is holding steady, while the African market assumes strategic importance.

With demand primarily focused on tractors, construction machinery, and specialized crop equipment, as well as irrigation and haymaking equipment, the new post-tariff commercial structures are encouraging  Italian manufacturers to seek outlets in those countries experiencing a developing agricultural economy.

It is in these regions where there is a growing demand for machinery, such as in countries of Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines) and of the Mediterranean region.
