Carestream inks deal with Alibaba in China

Carestream Health Inc. has struck a deal with Alibaba Health Information Technologies Ltd. to create an Internet-based medical-image sharing service in China, Carestream officials said Thursday.

The firms’ jointly developed Medical Image Management Cloud Platform is planned to give Chinese clinicians and patients the ability share and access a full range of studies including CT, MRI, X-ray, sonograms, echocardiograms and dermatology images.
The system is to wed Carestream’s medical image sharing technology and Alibaba Health’s online health services platform.
