Ho Chi Minh City to invest USD969 mn in health sector

The health sector of HCMC will carry out 89 projects worth VND21.6 trillion (US$969 million) between 2016 and 2020 to improve healthcare services.

These projects include developing human resources, building hospitals at the city’s gateways and local clinics, and upgrading major hospitals into high-tech facilities. The city government has approved projects such as Tan Binh Hospital, Saigon General Hospital and a new orthopedic hospital funded by private capital under build-transfer (BT) form.
The city now has 10 general hospitals, 20 specialized hospitals, and a leprosy treatment center. There are 23 district-level hospitals, 318 ward-level clinics, and many private and joint-venture medical facilities.
