Permanent Secretary for Public Health Narong Sahametapat is preparing to follow up on the progress of health service management in the form of 13 health zones.
Bangkok is designated as one of the 13 health zones. The remaining 12 health zones are located across the country; each of them covers between five and seven provinces and is responsible for about five million people.
Each zone has a committee to manage finance, workforce and other resources, and to link together local health services, from primary care to highly specialized care in various local facilities.
