Metropolis to invest USD15 mn to enhance footprint pan India

With an aim to provide quality laboratory services to the people across the country, Metropolis Healthcare, a global chain of pathology labs and diagnostic centres, has announced its plan to invest INR100 crore (USD15 mn) to open 20 laboratories and add 1,000 collection centres pan India, including metro cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi over the next 18 months.

With this, Metropolis will have 2,500 collection centres and 170 labs in the country by early 2019. The company is also exploring opportunities in Tanzania to start healthcare centres. As of now Metropolis has centres in Sri Lanka, Kenya, Mauritius, Zambia and Ghana, said CEO of Metropolis Vijender Singh.
