Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday launched ‘eACCESS’ initiative of the Apollo Hospitals that enables remote monitoring of patients in intensive care units by experts all through the day. A command centre has been set up at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills from where experts will be able to monitor all the vital statistics of patients admitted in ICUs of Apollo Hospitals in other cities.
Through the new system, one intensivist, an ICU specialist, will now be able to monitor 40 to 50 patients and help the onsite care unit to take relevant actions in real time and prevent complications. The command centre is equipped with high-end monitoring stations comprising computers that will receive clinical and laboratory data of patients, who are admitted in the ICU.
