The Chinese electronics retailer is expected to launch its appliances, smartphones and televisions which will be sold through multi-brand outlets and online marketplaces. The USD11 bn company will set prices to compete with rivals such as Samsung, Xiaomi, TCL and Oppo.
Like other Chinese giants, Gome is gearing up to invest in the Indian market to build its brand reputation. As the festive season is nearing when consumer spending will be at its peak, Gome will launch at least three smartphones in the INR10,000 (USD142) category.
