Carl Zeiss Meditec FY16 profit climbs on Asia/Pacific revenues

Carl Zeiss Meditec reported that its fiscal 2016 earnings per share climbed to EUR1.21 from last year's EUR0.77. EBIT rose to EUR154.3 mn from EUR130.6 mn a year ago. The EBIT margin increased to 14.2 percent from prior year's 12.6 percent.

Revenue increased 4.6 percent year-over-year to EUR1.09 bn. Asia/Pacific revenue climbed 19.5 percent, mainly attributable to the Chinese market, as well as Southeast Asia and South Korea.
