British going overseas for cosmetic surgery

Cosmetic surgery tourists from the UK are most likely to travel within Europe for their procedures, with Switzerland the top destination for face-lifts, botox and liposuction. The Czech Republic is also popular.
Some travel further afield, with Thailand a cosmetic surgery hotspot. 28% of those seeking teeth-whitening procedures abroad visited Thailand to get this done.
This boom in cosmetic surgery tourism can only partly be attributed to people looking to save money, with cost cited as the main reason by 25%. Others opted for surgery abroad so they could also enjoy a holiday at the same time (20%).
People are travelling abroad for surgery based on recommendations from friends and family (11%), or because they had heard a celebrity had been to the same foreign clinic or surgeon (10%).
