Thailand seeks to boost market share of Medical tourism in Asia

Asia continues to be the top destination in medical travel, as Asian countries continue to offer better and cheaper procedures and care than most other regions. In Thailand, a government agency has been set up to help market the expertise globally.

Thailand accounts for the maximum share of the Asia medical tourism market, followed by India and Singapore. Plans to target new markets are part of Thailand’s campaign to shore up the industry.
The Thai government is looking towards newer markets, such as China, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, to take advantage of the growing affluence in those countries and the rising demand for professional health care.
