Santen announces launch of ophthalmology JV in China

Japanese ophthalmology specialist Santen Pharmaceutical has announced the start of operations of its joint venture with state-owned Chinese group Chongqing Kerui.

This partnership, which will involve the establishment of China’s largest manufacturing site for eye care treatments in the city of Chongqing, promises to provide "the highest-quality ophthalmic products at a reasonable price to the most patients possible in China".

The joint venture is established as a consolidated subsidiary of Santen.
