More private hospitals open in Shenzhen

A Beijing-based high-end private hospital opened its first South China branch in Shenzhen on Tuesday.
Amcare Women and Children’s Hospital is joining a number of other private hospitals to explore the Shenzhen market, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported yesterday.

Hu Lan, CEO of Amcare Women and Children’s Hospital, said she decided to open a branch in Shenzhen thanks to its sound investment environment.
“The city government has actively invited private medical institutions to open in Shenzhen,” Hu said. “The government has made progress in revising existing regulations to welcome private investment in the health sector.”
C-Mer (Shenzhen) Dennis Law Eye Hospital in Shenzhen is the first medical institution to be opened by a Hong Kong resident on the Chinese mainland. Liu Jiangning, executive president said “The city government has given a lot of support to help us cut operation costs and has included the hospital into the national health care insurance network to help patients reduce their costs.”
