MedAnt patient-to-patient Q&A social app launched in China

MedAnt, an innovative patient-to-patient Q&A social app, has been launched in China on the Weixin (WeChat) platform. MedAnt is an app for patients to share information about their medical experiences. Patients can get knowledge of the disease in a question-and-answer form on the app.

CEO Marine Mallinson said that many of the complications that arise between doctors and patients are due to asymmetry of information. She sees MedAnt as being particularly relevant to patients undergoing cancer and ophthalmology treatments.
Unlike other medical apps, MedAnt will not involve any doctor-patient matching or transactions, nor will it provide clinically accurate medical information to the patient.
