KPJ eyes medical tourism opportunities

KPJ Healthcare Bhd is eyeing opportunities in medical tourism in tandem with the increasing number of medical tourist arrivals into the country for the past few years.

President and Managing Director Datuk Amiruddin Abdul Satar said Malaysia's medical tourism industry was well-supported by, among others, world-class facilities as well as reputable and talented doctors.

"Currently, the medical tourism segment's contribution to the group's revenue is small despite the steady increase in the number of medical travellers into the country," he said during a presentation at the 12th Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur.
