India's HealthCare atHOME raises USD40 mn to fund expansion

HealthCare atHome (HCAH) has raised around INR250 crore (USD40 mn) from Quadria Capital, a healthcare-focused private equity firm with over USD1.5 bn in managed capital, to finance its expansion into new cities.

HCAH provides nursing, ICU and other healthcare services at home. In addition, it provides services to pharma companies. It competes with companies such as Portea in the market - which is growing rapidly. The home healthcare market is expected to grow to USD8.4 bn by 2020 and HCAH is targeting to become the largest in the segment. It has around 800 employees and the company plans to scale this to 15,000 in three years.

"With the funding, we will be able to enter new cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata and move beyond Delhi NCR and other cities that we operate in currently," said Vivek Srivastava, co-founder and CEO.
