Carl Zeiss Meditec reports EUR280 mn in first quarter revenue

Carl Zeiss Meditec reported a 6.6% increase in revenue to EUR280 mn in the first quarter of its 2016-2017 fiscal year, compared with EUR262 mn in the same quarter a year ago.

Earnings before interest and taxes increased to EUR44.2 mn from EUR32 mn, which was attributed to capital gains from asset sales.
In the Asia-Pacific region, revenue increased 27%, attributed to the Chinese market and Southeast Asia and India.
