AirAsia founder to launch budget healthcare service ASEAN-wide

Tony Fernandes, founder of low-cost carrier AirAsia, is planning the launch of a new “affordable healthcare” business called Tune Care within his company holding Tune Group.

Tune Care will reportedly be launched in Malaysia’s Klang Valley by year-end and from there expand across ASEAN over the next two years. Fernandes’ business partner in the venture is Dr Palvinderjit Singh, a 28-year old Malaysian-born doctor who has been developing the idea of providing healthcare at an affordable prices.

“Tune Care will have its own hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, diagnostics centers and wellness programmes. It will be done in three phases, the first is to focus on preventive healthcare, and on to operations and invasive therapy,’’ he said.
