Vietnam's health sector to invest big in IT

The healthcare sector is expected to invest VND1.8 trillion (US$81 million) in information technology (IT) in 2016-2020, according to an IT application and development plan approved by the Ministry of Health.

There will be 33 IT projects to be executed in the next five years, including building a database on organizational system and human resources, constructing infrastructure for the ministry’s data center, and developing an integrated information system for the ministry’s leadership.
The plan also includes building an online one-stop-shop public service system, an information system for managing electronic medical records, and an electronic healthcare system.
