Tokyo to train 700 nurses in English before 2020 Olympics
20-Aug-17, Nikkei Asian Review
As the wave of tourists to Japan keeps swelling, Tokyo is getting 14 hospitals in the capital to be foreign-patient ready.
The plan is to certify the hospitals - those run by the metropolitan government and Tokyo Metropolitan Health and Medical Treatment Corp - as institutions ready to provide medical services in multiple languages by 2020.

Under the plan, the 14 hospitals will be recognized by the Japan Medical Education Foundation as institutions sufficiently equipped to accept foreign patients. Currently, Tokyo Metropolitan Hiroo Hospital is the only JMIP-certified institution operated by the metro government.
