Telemedicine boost across India

Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday launched SEHAT, a healthcare initiative to boost telemedicine in rural parts of India.

Under the initiative, 6,000 common service centres (CSC) across the country will be connected through a common information technology network that will help people avail information about healthcare.

"I hope this will become a game-changer not only for India but also exemplary for other countries across the globe," Prasad said during the launch.
