Russia to permit online sales of medicines from 2017

Russian Healthcare Ministry plans to allow drugstore chains to sell medicines via the Internet as of January 1, 2017, the Ministry’s press service announced, adding that appropriate amendments to the federal laws on information and IT and on circulation of medicines had been drafted in connection with the planned changes.

"The amendments presuppose that only the registered drugstores with licenses for operations in the field of pharmaceuticals will be able to sell drugs online and the procedures for trading will be specified by the government," the press service said.
This type of selling the drugs will be accessible to all customers with access to the Internet and cover all the groups of medicines, except narcotics and psychotropic substances.
