Ubial, who was impressed with the health system of Cuba, said that it would be a big help already if our country could achieve the ratio of 1 (doctor): 1,075 (population) situation in Cuba.
Ubial however admitted, that at present the ratio of doctors to patient population in the country is 1:33,000
Given that very wide disparity, she added that achieving even just 1:12,000 ratio would be a big help already. We need to triple the number of doctors in the rural areas or primary clinics,” said Ubial.
