New course trains Russian doctors in telemedicine

In May 2015, the People's Friendship University of Russia (PFUR or RUDN), which has students from 152 countries, established the school of medical information and telemedicine , which is headed by cardiologist Valery Stolyar, who for the last ten years had directed the department of telemedicine at the Russian Railways (RZD).

RZD is one of the largest companies in the country, employing about one million people.

The company has more than 200 institutional clinics that serve more than six million Russians. This includes residents in the remotest regions of the country where there are no hospitals, but just the so-called “hospitals on wheels,” which are specially equipped trains.
