India looking to attract Chinese medical tourists

India is looking at ways of persuading Chinese medical tourists to go to India. Low prices and good quality are pluses but the problems of language and quality of non-medical services remain.

With improvements in health provision in traditional Asian markets plus threats from African countries, it needs new markets.
Having attracted patients from Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, India is now targeting the Chinese market. More Chinese are suffering from diabetes and cancer, lifestyle diseases. For India, the traditional “Come to us as we are very cheap” approach will not work in China.
