JGC Corp has been awarded the contract for the construction of chemical plants that will be the foundation of a high-performance synthetic-resin manufacturing and sales undertaking in Thailand involving Kuraray, PTT Global Chemical and Sumitomo Corp.

The project involves several plants, including:
- A manufacturing plant for butadiene-derived products, including a 13,000 ton/yr unit for high-heat-resistant polyamide resin (PA9T) and a plant with capacity of 16,000 ton/yr of hydrogenated styrenic block copolymers (HSBC)
- A plant for manufactuting isobutylene derived products, producing 5,000 ton/yr of 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol
