Sales of smartphones in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will marginally increase in 2019, while the worldwide sales are set to decline. While sales in MENA will reach 76.33 million units by end of 2019, a 0.96 percent increase, global sales will reach 1.5 billion units in 2019, a 2.5 percent decline.

Japan, Western Europe and North America are set to exhibit the worst declines in sales of smartphones in 2019.

However, analysts expect smartphone sales to grow again in 2020, driven by broader availability of 5G models and the promotion of 5G service packages in various parts of the world.
