Shanghai Pharma teams up with JD.com to sell drugs online

Shanghai's state-backed pharmaceutical group Shanghai Pharmaceutical Holding said it has teamed up with e-commerce company JD.com to further tap the booming online drug sales market.

The two companies will increase their investment in Shanghai Pharmaceutical Holding Grand Health Cloud Business Co, which was set up in March this year. The capital injection will be completed within three months, according to a joint statement.

Shanghai Pharma will also operate JD's online prescription drug sales platform under an exclusive agreement, as well as sharing drug-sales related data and resources. JD will help build e-commerce platform operation and logistics distribution network.
