Malaysian hospital group IHH expands in China

IHH Healthcare, Asia's largest hospital operator by market capitalization, is expanding its footprint in China, the largest emerging economy on its radar.

IHH said on Friday that it has signed a lease with Perennial Real Estate Holdings in Chengdu, western China, on a 48,000 sq.-meter plot to build a 350-bed hospital.

The project is valued at about 900 million yuan ($136.6 million), and is located in the Perennial International Health and Medical Hub, which is part of a large, mixed development connected to the city's high-speed railway.
