Indian startups and industry bodies say that the Digital Information Security in Healthcare Act (DISHA), which seeks to put in place eHealth privacy and security standards, may be a "regulatory overreach" that might lead to confusion and regulatory overlaps.

The Internet & Mobile Association of India also feels that the proposed draft might result in stifling the pace of development in the healthcare sector.

The contention is primarily on the fact that the Justice Srikrishna Commission must be made operational and if needed, DISHA can then be aligned with it.
