SingHealth and A*Star tie up to tackle diseases in Asia

Diabetes patients may not have to go to the clinic to have their blood sugar levels checked in future, as they could get this done at home through remote technology.

The concept of the diabetes clinic of the future will be adopted at SingHealth's Diabetes and Metabolism Centre at Singapore General Hospital. The centre will use data analytics and medical technology to improve diabetes care.

The use of technology to care for diabetes patients is one of the initiatives under a partnership signed between healthcare group SingHealth and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star).
