Fertiliser exports from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region reached 20.4 million tonnes in 2017, growing by 5.3 percent year-on-year and at a 6 percent CAGR between 2007 and 2017. India, Brazil and the US were the top three export markets, among the 80 destinations.

Sales revenus grew at CAGR of 5.7 percent between 2010 and 2017, reaching USD5.9 billion in 2017 but down from a peak of USD7.2 billion in 2014 due to a drop in global fertiliser prices

"Asia accounted for 55 percent of total exports in 2017, followed by South America (21 percent), North America (15 percent), and Africa (7percent)", said the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association.
